Spring Farmers Market Mantel

I am so excited that spring is just around the corner and I couldn't wait to design a spring farmers market vignette on the family room mantel.

A New Look in the Dining Room for Spring

There's been a lot of painting,  cleaning, and moving furniture around in the formal dining room to give it a fresh look for spring.

Transformation from Ballet to Boho Bedroom

I knew the day would come that Ky had outgrown her ballet themed bedroom,    but I never dreamed it would come so soon!    It's been ballet themed for about 4 years,  but now she's informed me that she's a pre teen.

A Fresh Coat of Paint and Desert Rose Dishes

The display cabinet in the formal living/dining room used to be stained oak and filled with  my Mothers wedding china.

The Reality of My Everyday Life

I very seldom show the "behind the scenes" reality of my everyday life.      I post pictures that show the finished product of my creativity..........not a thing out of place.       That is NOT how we actually live though.     The house gets messy at times......really really messy!

No Matter How long the Winter, Spring is sure to Follow

No Matter how long the Winter,   spring is sure to follow!      I keep telling myself that!

I really shouldn't complain since we have pretty mild weather here in Eastern New Mexico.    We are expecting 50's and 60's all next week.

Flower Market Mantel

It shouldn't be a secret to anyone that I love,  love,  love flowers.    I pretty much love all flowers but roses are my favorite.

My inspiration for this mantel was the fact that I decided to take down the Christmas tree in the formal living had been up about 3 years.     It was covered    ( er decorated with flowers,  lol)    and I didn't know what to do with all of them.....that's part of the reason it's been up so long.      So,  I decided to open up a flower market in the master bedroom.

I found a white enamel Welcome and Closed sign at Michael's the other day and thought it would be perfect for my flower market mantel.

How to get the Most out of Your Decorating Dollars

Nothing to see here........that is...... nothing new!
Everything I used to give the guest room a fresh look has been used over and over and get the idea!

Farmhouse Barn Doors in the Hallway

I wish I had barn doors everywhere in the house,    but for now,     I'll settle for some faux doors in the hallway.

Styling a Vintage Dough Bowl

This vintage dough bowl belonged to my mom,  so it's been in the family a long time.      I haven't used it in a couple of years,   it's just been being used to hold my ever growing collection of dried flowers from the yard.     I've had it stored in  the big space under the armoire that sits in the corner of the sun room.

Installing Beefy Chunky Moulding and More Changes in the Entry

I was taking some photo's in the entry for a blog post the other day and like I usually do.........trying to avoid getting the dated wallpaper border in the photo.         Then it struck me like a bolt of lighting.....DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!

Farmhouse Halltree

This hall tree has been in the garage for many belonged to my mother.     I have been very reluctant to paint it since it belonged to her.     I tried to give it to my daughter....grand daughter ......just about all my close relatives that would like it because it belonged to my mother.    No takers!
